The shift between seasons can bring dramatic changes to both our external and internal environments. What if there were a way to live in tune with nature’s changes, preserve our energy, and feel more at ease in our bodies during these times of transition?
If you’ve been curious about exploring the connection between yourself and the natural world to live a healthier life, then this five-part class will set you on the path to balance.
What to Expect:
We’ll explore the functions and imbalances of each Element through the framework of Five Element Acupuncture, and discuss ways to restore balance.
Topics will include food therapy, herbal support, and open discussion of participants’ experiences.
Each class includes a 60-minute lecture followed by a 30 minutes of community-style acupuncture treatment focused on the Element of the season.
Class #1: The Metal Element
DATE: Saturday, October 25, 2025 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PDT
The Metal Element corresponds to the lung and large intestine organs, as well as the emotions of grief and letting go.

In this class we’ll focus on strengthening the immune system as we enter the cold and flu season. The class also includes a Q&A with one of our naturopathic doctors or dietitians.
Class #2: The Water Element
DATE: Saturday, January 17, 2026 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PDT
The Water Element governs the kidney and bladder systems, and relates to the emotion of fear. This is the most Yin, or restful, time of year, when we replenish our batteries and refill the well from which we continue to give.
We will focus on adrenal support and stress relief in particular.
Class #3: The Wood Element
DATE: Saturday, April 11, 2026 | 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PDT

The Wood Element includes the liver and gallbladder as well as the emotions of anger and frustration. Spring marks a time of renewal and growth, when we support the body’s natural urge to move forward while maintaining balance.
You will learn how to support the liver and the free flow of energy during this time of detoxification, which in turn can help with issues such as seasonal allergies.
Class #4: The Fire Element
DATE: Saturday, June 20, 2026 | 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PDT
The Fire Element is expressed through four meridians:
- Heart
- Small intestine
- Pericardium
- This is responsible for protecting the heart and governing emotional boundaries.
- Triple Burner
- This regulates circulation, temperature, and harmony between the body’s upper, middle and lower regions.
In contrast to the winter solstice, the summer solstice is the most Yang time of year, filled with joy, warmth, and connection.
You’ll walk away knowing how to cultivate our inner fire or light while preventing burnout and heart-related imbalances.
Class #5: The Earth Element
DATE: Saturday, August 29, 2026 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
In Eastern Medicine, Late Summer represents its own season, embodying the Earth Element.
We’ll explore the spleen and stomach organs, the emotion of worry or overthinking, and the importance of digestive health during this grounding time. In this class, you will walk away feeling more centered and stable, especially amidst change.
