In case you missed it, February was Heart Health awareness month!
Even though the month flew by in the blink of an eye, our providers were hard at work here at the clinic.
Dr. Wright, ND, and Ashlyn Ahner, RDN had a lot to say on the blog about keeping your heart healthy and additionally what Whatcom County has to offer for the month of March.

Online Appointment Requests
While we don’t have the option to book appointments online, patients can send in appointment requests through the Patient Portal, to be reviewed for scheduling by the front office staff.
If your appointment request is approved, you will receive a text message.
For the fastest guaranteed scheduling, we recommend calling our office.
Charm Messaging
In order to ensure both your safety and quality of care, appointments are required for any changes to supplements or prescriptions as well as referrals, documentation, or discussing any new symptoms or conditions that have not been discussed with your doctor.
This includes detailed questions about your treatment plan, lab results, imaging reviews, or medications.

Please message our front office staff or CNA with any questions that you have and we can either assist you directly or let you know if an appointment with your doctor will be necessary, depending on your request.
Please keep in mind that, as stated in our clinic policy, medical care will not be provided over email or the patient portal messaging system. Additionally, providers are often booked back-to-back, and we cannot guarantee a swift response via message.
An appointment is the best way to ensure that you’re getting your provider’s full attention and the high-quality care that you deserve. We appreciate your understanding.
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Local Pharmacy HRT Shortages
It’s come to our attention that many of the commercial pharmacies in the area are experiencing shortages of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) products.

To best avoid any delay in prescribing and refilling these prescriptions, we ask that you call your insurance to find out the preferred mail order pharmacy associated with your plan.
Depending on the preferred pharmacy, their process for prescription transfers can vary. Generally, if you would like to transfer an existing HRT prescription from a local pharmacy to the preferred mail order pharmacy, we ask that you:
1. Contact the preferred pharmacy and request them to pull your existing HRT prescription from the pharmacy currently managing. (The pharmacy gaining your business will be a lot more motivated to pull this Rx to their system than the existing pharmacy will be to lose you as a customer.)
2. If you call the preferred mail order pharmacy and they tell you they will need a new prescription, please give us a call and we can assist with this process.
